As a consumable part, the pellet machine roller needs to be carefully selected. At first, GCr15 was commonly used, which has good comprehensive performance. At that time, the machine was small, the roller was thin, and the cost was controllable. However, as the machine became larger, the roller wall thickness increased, and the cost soared, so a variety of alternative materials emerged in the market. For example, low-carbon alloy steel 20CrMnTi has a hard surface after carburizing, but the hardness drops quickly after wear. Carbon steel has low cost, but customers know little about it. The currently popular 40Cr is a medium-carbon alloy steel with excellent mechanical and processing properties and moderate carbon content. After heat treatment, it has hardness, toughness, and wear resistance. The surface hardness is HRC58-62, which is very cost-effective.
