Feed pelleting refers to the process of compacting a single raw material or a mixed material and squeezing it out of a die hole to form a granular feed through a feed pellet machine. The purpose of feed pelleting is to make finely divided, dusty, poorly palatable and difficult to transport feed into pellets by using the heat, moisture and pressure in the feed pelleting process. Compared with powdered feed, pellet feed has the following advantages:
(1) Increase pellet density, reduce transportation costs, and facilitate bulk transportation.
(2) Improve feed digestibility. During the feed pelleting process, due to the combined effects of moisture, temperature and pressure, starch gelatinizes and enzyme activity is enhanced, allowing feeding animals to digest feed more quickly and improve feed conversion rate.
(3) Prevent animals from being picky eaters, ensure a good nutritional formula, and reduce feed losses.
(4) Sterilize and reduce the activity of microorganisms. Steam high-temperature conditioning and pelleting can kill Salmonella in animal feed.
(5) Avoid automatic grading of feed ingredients and reduce environmental pollution.
(6) Increase animal feed intake and reduce feeding waste.
(7) When the formula is changed, animals are more receptive.
(8) It reduces the amount of material hanging, caking, and dust in the warehouse
